“Imaginary Lover” in Armenia

I’m thrilled that my song cycle for tenor and piano, Imaginary Lover, to texts by Armenian poet Vahan Terian, will be performed again on 19th July in Yerevan, Armenia in a concert at the Komitas Museum-Institute, with tenor Berj Karazian and pianist Arpine Kalinina. The piece was commissioned for Arpine’s “British and Armenian Musical Bridge” project, a dialogue between poetry and music from Britain and Armenia, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary with this concert. The piece’s premiere, at the same venue, was back in 2017, so it’s lovely that it’s being done again alongisde music by James Moriarty, Alice Hunter, Joseph Howard, Yuanfan Yang, Ruben Antonyan, Hayk Melikyan and Arpine herself. You can listen to Imaginary Lover and view the score here.
